Multicontinuum Homogenization in Perforated Domains

报告摘要:

In this talk,we introduce a general multicontinuum homogenization framework designed for perforated domains. Due to the high computational cost associated with direct numerical simulations in such domains, coarse-grid macroscopic models are often constructed in practical applications. Our approach classifies the perforations into different spatial regions based on their scales. For example, very small perforations are treated as one continuum, while larger perforations are treated as another. This distinction allows us to more accurately capture the flow behavior within each type of perforation. For each continuum, we construct corresponding cell problems and impose suitable constraints on the averages and gradients of their solutions. These cell problem solutions are then used in a multiscale expansion to derive a new macroscopic system for multicontinuum homogenization. The proposed method is applicable to problems without scale separation. We present numerical results for a two-continuum case to demonstrate the accuracy of the method.
