Homotopy Methods for Computing Complete/Specified Eigenvalues of the Structured Multiparameter Eigenvalue Problems

报告摘要:

Structured linear/nonlinear multiparameter eigenvalue problems arise in many applications, such as the multiparameter Sturm-Liouville theory, the analysis of the asymptotic stability of the delay differential equation, the reconstruction of the physical mass-spring system and the semi-structured aeroelastic flutter problems.

  In this talk, I will introduce the background of the multiparameter eigenvalue problems, and then introduce two classes of numerical methods: those that deal with the problems directly and those that compute the eigenvalues of the transformed simultaneous eigenvalue problems. Finally, some theoretical analysis and numerical experiments are presented to illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of these two classes of methods.

主讲人简介:

董波,大连理工大学数学科学学院教授、博士生导师。主要的研究工作包括非线性方程组全部解问题、矩阵特征值问题等,在SINUM、SIMAX、Math. Comput.、Numer. Math.、J. Sci. Comput. 等期刊上发表论文多篇,主持国家自然科学基金4项。
