Parareal Schwarz Waveform Relaxation Method

报告摘要:

The parareal Schwarz waveform relaxation algorithm is a new space-time parallel algorithm for the solution of evolution partial differential equations. It is based on a decomposition of the entire domain both in space and in time into smaller space-time subdomains, and then computes by an iteration in parallel on all these small subdomains a better and better approximation of the overall solution. The initial conditions in the subdomains are updated using a parareal mechanism, while the boundary conditions are updated using Schwarz waveform relaxation techniques. In this talk, an accurate convergence estimate is presented when the algorithm is applied to the heat equation  with the Dirichlet transmission conditions and optimized transmission conditions. We illustrate our analysis with numerical experiments. In addition, a new two level space-time Schwarz waveform relaxation method for time-dependent problems will also be introduced.

主讲人简介:

宋博,西北工业大学数学与统计学院副教授,硕士生导师,研究兴趣为偏微分方程新型高性能计算方法,主要包括时间(时空)并行方法、波形松弛方法、区域分解方法、粗空间校正等。目前在SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing、中国科学(数学)等刊物上发表学术论文近20篇;获得省部级科学技术进步二等奖 1 项(第三完成人);主持国家自然科学基金1项,省部级项目3项,作为主要参与人参与国家级项目3项、陕西省重点项目1项。
