This talk presents some recent progress on the heat equation with time-delay. We reveal a hybrid parabolic-hyperbolic nature of solutions for the above-mentioned equation. This nature exhibits what follows: First, a solution has a periodically jumping propagation of the singularity with the height 2. Second, a solution is smooth at almost everywhere. This is a joint work with K. Hunish, H. Yu and Y. Zhang.

汪更生教授,天津大学,主要从事分布参数系统控制理论的研究, 百千万工程国家级人选。出版《Time Optimal Control of Evolution Equations》、《Periodic Feedback Stabilization for Linear Periodic Evolution Equations》学术专著两部. 现任国际控制论权威刊物《SIAM J. Control Optim.》以及控制论知名期刊《ESAIM Control Optim. Calc. Var.》和《Mathematical Control and Related Fields》的编委。
