报告摘要：
In this talk, we will review the recent research progress of the Functional Analysis Group of Xiamen University on several basic questions related to measure of noncompactness（MNC），including Triple embedding problem of metric spaces；Representation problem of MNC；Existence problem of inequivalent regular MNCs；Countable determination problem of the Kuratowski MNC；Independence of the generalized Cantor intersection assumption in definition of non-full MNC；and A basic integral inequality related to a Cauchy initial- value problem in infinite dimensional Banach spaces.
主讲人简介：
程立新，厦门大学数学科学学院教授、博士生导师，厦门大学陈景润特聘教授。专业方向为：泛函分析、凸分析、Banach空间几何、非线性几何。2002年入选教育部跨世纪人才培养计划。曾到美国华盛顿大学数学系等十七个国家和地区三十多所高校和科研机构科研合作和学术访问。在国际著名学术刊物诸如JFA, IJM等发表文章80多篇。培养博士生33人。自2001年来, 曾十多次作国际学术会议和全国性学术会议的大会邀请报告。自2001年来共主持包括1项国家自然科学基金重点项目和5项面上项目在内的科研项目12项。现任学院学术委员主任，全国泛函分析空间理论学术联络组成员,中国数学会非线性泛函分析专业委员会委员。曾获得福建省科学技术二等奖和福建省自然科学二等奖。曾任数学学院教授委员会主任和副院长。曾担任全国空间理论学术联络组主任，全国泛函分析空间理论和应用泛函分析大会副主席, 国家自然科学基金委员会数理科学部特邀评委，科技部国家自然科学奖会评专家，中国数学会常务理事以及福建省数学会理事长，《数学进展》等六个国际国内数学学术期刊编委,《厦门大学学报》副主编。
