In isoparametric foliations in the unit sphere, the OT-FKM type plays an important role. The focal submanifold M+ of OT-FKM type is a sphere bundle over sphere, including the Stiefel manifolds as special cases. We construct the characteristic maps corresponding to vector bundle of M+ for m=4 and 8, generalizing the results of Steenrod and James. As an application, we establish new harmonic representatives of elements in certain homotopy groups of spheres. Moreover, inspired by the OT-FKM construction, we give partial answers to two questions of James. This talk is based on joint work with Professor Zizhou Tang and Professor Chao Qian.
主讲人简介:
彦文娇,北京师范大学教授,主要研究方向为微分几何,特别是等参理论及其应用,至今已在《J. Diff. Geom.》,《Adv. Math.》等国际著名数学期刊上接受发表了多篇论文。代表性成果有与唐梓洲教授合作完全解决了等参情形的丘成桐第一特征值猜想、给出陈省身猜想在任意维数的部分进展等。曾多次在中日几何会议,日本数学会年会等国际学术会议上做学术报告。现为中日几何会议组委会成员。曾获得国家自然科学优秀青年基金。
