The weak order is a fundamental tool for the study of Coxeter groups. In this talk, we give a combinatorial description of the weak order on hyperoctahedral groups. This characterization is then used to analyze the order-theoretic properties of the shifted products of hyperoctahedral groups. As an application, we reveal a close relationship between the structure of the Hopf algebra of signed  permutations and the weak order on hyperoctahedral groups.
