In this talk, I will introduce some recent development of the theory of essentially normal Hilbert modules, which is closed related to the distinguished varieties. As an application, we will consider the finite generatedness of submodules. The Hilbert-Schmidtness of submodules will also be involved. The talk is based on the joint work with C. Zhao.

王鹏辉，山东大学数学科学学院教授，博士生导师，基础数学研究所所长。在多元盘上Hilbert模的本质正规性和Sturm-Liuville系统和Hill型公式和迹公式等方面做出了出色的研究成果，研究结果发表在 Adv. Math., JFA, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 等著名期刊。
