This talk is about the nonlinear stability of two-dimensional steady Euler flows related to semi-stable solutions of elliptic problems, which can be seen as an extension of Arnold’s second stability theorem. The proof is based on the EC functional method proposed by Arnold in 1960s and the supporting functional method developed by Wolansky and Ghil in 1990s.

王国栋,哈工大数学研究院讲师,主要研究方向是流体力学中的非线性偏微分方程,特别是不可压欧拉方程定常涡解的存在性和非线性稳定性,点涡的去奇异化等问题,目前已在Cal.Var.PDE, Nonlinearity, JMFM, SIAM J. Math. Anal.和JDE等学术期刊发表SCI论文十余篇, 曾受博士后面上资助、特别资助和基金委青年基金资助
