In this paper we first study the problem of finding the maximum number of zeros of functions with parameters and then apply the results obtained to smooth or piecewise smooth planar autonomous systems and scaler periodic equations to study the number of limit cycles or periodic solutions, improving some fundamental results both on the maximum number of limit cycles bifurcating from an elementary focus of order k or a limit cycle of multiplicity k, or from a period annulus, and on the maximum number of periodic solutions for scaler periodic smooth or piecewise smooth equations as well.

主讲人简介：
韩茂安，男，二级教授、博士生导师。1982年2月毕业于山东科技大学数学系，分别于1984年11月和 1987年6月在南京大学获得硕士和博士学位。1987年7月至1996年10月间在山东科技大学工作，1996年11月至2005年5月间在上海交通大学工作，2005年6月起在上海师大工作至今，2018年10月起作为浙江师大杰出教授在浙江师大任职。曾获得宝钢优秀教师奖，曾作为第一完成人分别获得教育部科技进步一等奖、上海市自然科学二等奖、上海市自然科学三等奖、上海市教学成果二等奖，已连续8次主持国家自然科学基金项目,目前主持一项国家自然科学基金重点项目（2020-2024），已培养博士和博士后60多人，发表SCI论文300多篇，教学研究论文10多篇，在国内外出版专著和教材10余部。曾任上海交大首席教授、上海交大数学系常务副主任、上海师大数理学院副院长、上海师大数学系主任、上海师范大学学位委员会副主席、上海师大数学研究所所长与动力系统中心主任。曾作为学术带头人申请上海师范大学数学一级学科博士点获得成功，作为项目负责人申请上海市数学高峰学科获得成功，作为主编分别在上海交大、上海师大与浙江师大等三所大学创办三家国际数学杂志Communication on Pure and Applied Analysis（CPAA）、Journal of Applied Analysis and Computation(JAAC)、Journal of Nonlinear Modeling and Analysis(JNMA）。
