Extended Spectral Methods for Some Differential Equations

In this talk we will discuss high order methods for some classes of differential equations including: traditional elliptic equations, integro-differential equations, fractional differential equations, and so on. One of the main features of these problems is their non-locality or singularities, which makes the design of numerical methods difficult. We will present some efficient numerical methods specially adapted to these problems, including fast high order time stepping schemes with low storage for the time fractional differential equation, an extended spectral method for fractional integro-differential equations.

In particular, some new methods making use of Muntz polynomials will be analyzed for problems with solutions of low regularity.

主讲人简介:

厦门大学特聘教授,1986年厦门大学本科毕业,1989年巴黎南大学硕士毕业,1993年巴黎第六大学博士毕业。研究领域包括: 计算流体力学,谱元法,梯度流模型的高效算法,奇性问题的高精度算法,分数阶偏微分/积分方程的高阶数值方法等。与国内外多所大学开展了合作,包括法国的Nice大学、Bordeaux大学、ENSAM、Université de technologie de Compiègne、Poitiers大学等。担任多个国际学术期刊的编委,这些期刊包括SIAM Journal of Scientific Computing,Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series S, East Asia Journal on Applied Mathematics, AIMS Mathematics,Communications on Applied Mathematics and Computation.
