Sub-Finsler geometry on Carnot groups

报告摘要:

There is a considerable recent interest to sub-Finsler geometry in geometric control community, motivated by several important applications:

- Geometric group theory,

- Homogeneous spaces with intrinsic metrics,

- Quantum control.

We will consider sub-Finsler problem as a time-optimal problem.

The sevaral basic left-invariant cases will be discussed:

- Heisenberg group,

- Engel group,

- Cartan group.

For these cases, we will describe Pontryagin maximum principle, extremal trajectories (abnormal, singular, bang-bang, mixed), optimality conditions, sub-Finsler spheres.

Yuri Sachkov is a full Professor at Department of Mathematics, University of Pereslavl. Chief of Control processes research center, Program Systems Institute (PSI), Russian Academy of Sciences.Member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Mathematical Sciences, Springer, since 2012.Member of the Editorial Board of Journal Program Systems: Theory and Practice, since 2010.Member of the American Mathematical Society.Expert of the Russian Foundation for Basic research.Expert of the Russian Science Foundation. Research Interests: Sub-Riemannian Geometry, Right-Invariant Control Systems on Lie Gro-ups, Optimal Control, Bilinear Systems, Nonlinear Geometric Control Theory, Motion Planning, Applications to Robotics, Mechanics, and Reconstruction of Images, Integrability and Non-Integrability of Hamiltonian Systems, Numerical Methods for Optimal Control and ODEs, Parallel Computations.
