In this talk, we will present the Stokes Darcy interface problem as a modeling tool for matrix-conduit underground water systems. The partial differential equations together with the interface conditions governing the water system will be derived, followed by well-posedness analysis and numerical solutions through the finite element method and the domain decomposition method.
