Using a class of delayed differential equation models for viral infection,I will explain a simple mechanism for occurrence of the phenomenon of stability switches as the time delay is varied. I will also show what the global Hopf bifurcation branches are like as stability switches occur, and why this might lead to the co-existence of multiple stable periodic solutions.

Michael Yi Li(李毅)是加拿大University of Alberta数学与统计科学系教授,我校“东师学者讲座教授”,主要从事微分方程定性理论、动力系统和传染病动力学的研究,取得了很多富有特色的研究成果。
