In this talk, we clarify the relationship between some sufficient conditions which guarantee that the equilibrium of the damped harmonic oscillator
is uniformly asymptotically stable, where h is locally integrable. Four conditions are compared. All conditions work to suppress the rapid growth of the frictional force expressed by the integral amount of the damping coefficient h. We compare the obtained sufficient conditions with known conditions for uniform asymptotic stability. We show a relationship diagram to facilitate understanding between conditions. We also point out the remaining problems by giving a concrete example.

Jitsuro Sugie,日本Shimane University教授。1980、1983年于University of Osaka Prefecture获得学士、硕士学位,1983-1984年在University of Osaka Prefecture进行博士学习,1984-1987年在Osaka University进行博士学习,1990年于Tohoku University获博士学位。1987-1993年于Okayama University任助理教授,1993-1995年于Shinsyu University任副教授,1995年至今于Shimane University任教授。主要从事微分方程、动力系统、生物数学研究,公开发表论文100余篇。现任Advances in Difference Equations、International Journal of Mathematics and Statistics等期刊编委。
