As a generalization of localizations of commutative rings, universal localizations were introduced in 1970's. It is known that not every such a localization is homological. In this talk, we shall present methods to construct universal localizations by exact contexts and noncommutative tensor products, and give conditions for the constructed universal localizations to be homological.

惠昌常教授现为首都师范大学数学科学学院教授，博士生导师，长江学者特聘教授。长期致力于代数表示论和相关课题的研究，曾获德国洪堡“年轻杰出学者洪堡奖”(Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Forschungspreis)，兼任《J. Algebra》、 《Archiv der Math.》等国际学术杂志编委。
