In 2004, Dominique Bourn proposed the following problem: Find a procedure to check weather a monoid is or not a group just usingarrows and universal properties, without elements. This is, to find a categorical characterisation of groups amongst monoids. In this talk we will give an answer to this problem using protomodular objects and split extensions.
主讲人简介：
Xabier Garcia Martinez于2017年12月在西班牙Santiago de Compostela大学获得博士学位；在Journal of Algebra，Revista Matemática Complutense，Forum Mathematicum等杂志发表论文多篇。Xabier将于2018年2月21日到2018年5月17日访问我院基础数学系代数团队。
