One of the most natural approaches to the definition of a conformal algebra is to use the operad of conformal endomorphisms Cend. In this talk, we will consider the details of the construction of Cend, and then proceed to a more complicated case of chiral endomorphisms. The corresponding chiral algebras are generalizations of very well-known vertex algebras emerged in mathematical physics and widely used in representation theory. In this talk, we will derive the definition of what is an associative chiral algebra.

Pavel Kolesnikov is a research member of the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics and a professor of Novosibirsk State University. He specializes in the study of non-associative structures emerging in contemporary mathematics, like Rota-Baxter algebras, dendriform algebras, conformal and vertex algebras, etc.
