Z-absorption and small boundary property

报告摘要:

A C*-algebra is said be Z-absorbing if it absorbs the Jiang-Su algebra Z tensorially. Let us consider a free and minimal Z^d action, and let us consider the corresponding crossed product C*-algebra. Then it is shown recently that the Z-absorption of the crossed product C*-algebra, which is a C*-algebra property, indeed is completely characterized by the small boundary property (or the zero mean dimension) of the canonical Cartan subalgebra, which is a dynamical system property or a Cartan subalgebra property. As a consequence, the Z-absorption of the crossed product C*-algebra can be also characterized by other (C*-algebra or Cantan subalgebra) properties such as uniform property Gamma or real rank of certain sequence algebras. The talk is base on joint works with George A. Elliott.

主讲人简介:

牛壮,美国怀俄明大学教授,2005年毕业于加拿大多伦多大学,获得博士学位。主要研究C*代数分类以及动力系统方面问题,在Duke Math. J., J. Reine Angew. Math., Adv. Math., J. Funct. Anal.等杂志发表多篇文章。因其在C*代数领域的卓越贡献,获得2015年加拿大算子代数Israel Halperin奖,该奖五年一次,有时空缺。他和龚贵华,林华新两位教授获得了2023年首届国际基础科学大会前沿科学奖(数学)。
