Warped cone is a metric space associated to a group action on a compact space. It was introduced by J. Roe to construct examples of metric spaces with Yu's property A. Recently, it was used to construct metric spaces with various properties in coarse geometry, in particular, expanders.In this talk, I will talk about our recent result that on a compact Lie group, the warped cone associated with the translation action by its countable, dense subgroup does not have geometric property (T). This is based on a joint work with Ryo Toyota.
