The original sub-Hardy space was developed by L. de Branges and J. Rovnyak in connection with their operator model theory. In this talk, we introduce some basic properties of sub-Hardy space by using the Sarason's approach of ranges of Toeplitz operators. In particular, two types of sub-Hardy spaces, where one is backward shift-invariant and one is not, will be discussed.

Caixing Gu,美国加州州立理工大学（California Polytechnic State University）教授。主要从事算子理论、矩阵分析、系统和控制理论的研究。在Adv. Math., Math. Ann., J. Funct. Anal., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.,等杂志发表文章90余篇。
