Singularity effects for advection-reaction-diffusion equations with fast/slow diffusion

This talk is a survey of our recent studies on advection-reaction-diffusion equations with singular fast/slow diffusion. When the diffusion is degenerate with singular point u=0, the equations possess the so-called sharp traveling waves which are regionally degenerate. On the other hand, when the diffusion is fast diffusion, the equations become singular at u=0. The main concerns of this talk are to investigate the sharp traveling waves and their stabilities for slow diffusion case, and the stability of singular viscous shock waves for the fast diffusion case. Singularities for both the fast/slow diffusion cases cause the essential difficulty for the study.

加拿大Champlain College & McGill University教授,国际知名偏微分方程学者,主要从事流体力学方程和时滞反应扩散方程的定性分析等方面的研究,在ARMA, SIMA, JDE等著名数学刊物发表论文140 余篇,是多个SCI期刊的编委,一直承担加拿大自然科学基金项目及魁北克省自然科学基金项目。
